Gokotta is a Swedish word, meaning 'the act of rising early in the morning to hear the first birds sing.' My sister introduced me to this word, on one of our 'birding' trips, inspiring me to draw this piece. These crested tits, the books and the clock, all of these take me back to some of my favourite times spent in the hills during winters.
